Biography: Sweet Swine O’ Mine has been a force to be reckoned with on the competition barbecue circuit for the past 17 years, garnering numerous awards, trophies and Grand Championships. In both 2013 and 2009, Sweet Swine O’ Mine was honored to be chosen as Grand Champions at the Memphis In May World Champion BBQ Cooking Contest. Sweet Swine O’ Mine has been named World Champions in pork shoulder at Memphis In May four times: 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2013. They also placed second in 2007 and third in 2010, which means they have made it into the finals, six out of the past nine years.

What makes Sweet Swine O’ Mine different? They do not have a restaurant – barbecue is their hobby. An addictive, grueling, frustrating, exhilarating hobby that the team is passionate about. Sweet Swine O’ Mine is a small, self-funded team made up of long-time friends. The diverse group is comprised of entrepreneurs, sports agents, dentists, airmen, financial planners, prosecutors and sales and marketing professionals. They all come together for the love of barbecue, smoking low-n-slow, competing, enjoying the comfort of old friends and the pleasure of new ones made along the way, but mostly, they love to WIN!

There is no better smell than the smoky, succulent pork air puffed out when closing a winning blind box, no better sight during a competition than a contest coordinator coming to give you a finals sign, or no sweeter sound than hearing Sweet Swine O’ Mine called out on stage. It is a high like none other, and they are all woefully, gleefully addicted.
