Sazon and Cinnamon Rubbed Duck Breasts
December 31, 2013
It’s duck hunting season and while I don’t hunt, I have plenty of neighbors who are more than willing to provide me with an ample supply of duck breasts. For the recipe below, I utilized one of my favorite seasoning blends, Sazon complete seasoning, which combines cumin, onion, garlic and other herbs for a well-rounded blast of flavor, coupled with a touch of cinnamon to really bring it full circle.
4 boned and skinned duck breasts
3 tbsp. Sazon complete seasoning (available in the ethnic aisle of most grocery stores)
2 tbsp. smoked paprika
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. olive oil
In a small bowl, combine the Sazon, paprika, and cinnamon. Coat duck breast with olive oil and season liberally with the Sazon mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 4-6 hours.
Prepare grill for medium-high heat cooking. Grill duck breast for approximately 5 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 130-135 for medium rare. Remove from heat, rest for 10 minutes, slice on the bias and serve.
